Arrest Made in January 25, 2008 Shooting

At 11:58 p.m., Friday, January 25, 2008 the City County Joint Dispatch Center received a telephone call from an adult female reporting that an individual had just been shot outside the residence at 1417 NW Carden Avenue. At 12:01 a.m. Officers from the Pendleton Police Department arrived on scene and secured the area. Pendleton Fire and Ambulance responded and transported a White male adult 20 years of age to St. Anthony Hospital. The male had been shot one time in the abdomen and was receiving emergency treatment. He was later transferred to Sacred Heart Medical Center where he was undergoing a second surgery and was listed in critical condition.
Officers from the Pendleton Police Department, Oregon State Police and the Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office located the suspects who had fled the scene. Ronnie Flores Jr., a Hispanic male adult, Date of Birth 12-13-82 and a material witness, were located at 23 SE 9th Drive and taken into custody for questioning at approximately 3:35 a.m. without incident. Flores will be transported to the Umatilla County Jail and lodged on a probable cause affidavit charging Attempted Murder and Assault I. Additional individuals have been identified and interviewed in connection with this incident. Additional arrests could be made in this case.
An affidavit and accompanying Search Warrant was prepared and served at the residence located at 23 SE 9th Drive allowing investigators to search for and collect evidence. The scene of shooting was also processed and evidence was collected.
The Pendleton Police Department is continuing the investigation with the assistance of the Oregon State Police, Umatilla County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon State Police Forensics Division and the Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office.
