RE: Arrest made in the August 13, 2007 Forcible Rape Case
2:49 p.m., Thursday, August 23, 2007, Detectives from the Pendleton Police Department arrested David Eugene Malone, WMA, DOB: 10-03-78 without incident.
Malone’s arrest is the result of an investigation conducted by the Pendleton Police Department in response to a forcible rape and assault that occurred at approximately 04:45 a.m., Monday, August 13, 2007, in the 10 block of SE Isaac Avenue, Pendleton, Oregon. The victim sustained serious head injuries as a result of the attack. She was stabilized at St. Anthony Hospital in Pendleton, Oregon before being flown to Kadlec Medical Center in Richland, Washington, where she was admitted and later released.
TheOregon State Police Forensics Division processed evidence collected by Pendleton Police Detectives, and conveyed the results of their tests at approximately 1:00 p.m., Thursday, August 23, 2007. Detectives used the information provided by the Oregon State Police Forensics Division to further their investigation, and support the probable cause arrest of Malone.

Malone was transported to the Umatilla County Jail where he was lodged on a probable cause affidavit charging Rape I, Sex Abuse I, Robbery I, Assault II and Theft II. Malone’s bail amount is expected to be $205,000.00.
The investigation is continuing in cooperation with the Oregon State Police Forensics Division and the Umatilla County District Attorney’s Office.
