Criminal Investigations

About CIS

The Criminal Investigations Section is under the command and control of the Lieutenant.  The Pendleton Police Department has three Detectives.  A Detective Sergeant, General Criminal Law Detective and a Narcotics Detective who is assigned to the Blue Mountain Enforcement Narcotics Team (BENT). 

The detectives in the Criminal Investigations Section are responsible for follow-up investigations of assigned cases. These cases are usually the more serious and/or complex incidents reported to the police department including, but not limited to; homicides, robberies, serious sexual assaults, serious physical assaults, child abuse, cyber crimes and other cases that demand unique investigative knowledge, time and travel. 

Detectives

Sergeant Richard J. Jackson has been with the Pendleton Police Department since May 3, 2000.  Sgt. Jackson is Photo: Dt. Jacksonresponsible for the direct supervision of the Criminal Investigations Section, as well as the Blue Mountain Narcotics Enforcement Team, School Resource Officer, Community Services Officer and the Code Enforcement Officer.  Sgt. Jackson is a Firearms Instructor, Less Lethal Instructor and Commander of the Pendleton Police Department SWAT Team.  He is also a member of the Umatilla/Morrow County Major Crime Team.

Detective James Littlefield has been with the Pendleton Police Department since September 27, 2004.  Det. LPhoto: Dt. Littlefieldittlefield is an experienced investigator, and is currently assigned to criminal investigations.  He is a State of Oregon Certified Medicolegal Death Investigator, a Computer Forensics Acquisition and Analysis Specialist as well as an instructor for Sexual Assault Investigations.  Detective Littlefield is also a member of the Umatilla/Morrow County Major Crime Team.  Detective Littlefield is a former member of the Pendleton SWAT Team.

Detective Brandon Gomez has been with the Pendleton Police Department since January 1, 2003. Detective GoPhoto: Ofc. Gomezmez is currently assigned to the Blue Mountain Enforcement Narcotics Team (BENT). Detective Gomez is also a member of the Pendleton Police Department SWAT Team, Less Lethal Instructor, Firearms Instructor, Pendleton Police Department Glock Armorer, Range 3000 Instructor and a member of the Umatilla/Morrow County Major Crime Team.
